Free-Choice Not Tied to Mental Well-Being →
I found this article to be extremely interesting. As someone who thrives in controlled and structured environments, it was interesting to read about the detriments of having too many options.

In all seriousness, I have my first honest to goodness interview since I was laid off in October. All of my other meetings have been with recruiters who basically told me the same thing:
“We are having a hard time placing people who went to better schools and had internships, etc. etc.”
But today I am going to an actual...

Now this is what I call funemployment.
Just made dinner reservations at Aquavit and Le Cirque with Miss Maggie. Hey, it is Restaurant Week and a girl has got to eat. Now everyone keep your fingers crossed that I find work soon, because I am not adjusting well to not having disposable income.
(By the way, I am fully aware that I may come off as snobbish to some. This is not the case. I have always made my own cash monies and I...

I am ambivalent. Part of me loves. Part of me thinks it completely ruins the aesthetic. I am so confused.

Today's Slow Cooker of Deliciousness
Beef chili with black beans and yellow rice:
1 lb of ground beef
1 can of crushed tomatoes
2 cans of black beans
1 bag of Iberia yellow rice
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
olive oil
assorted spices
Brown the beef with spices of your choosing. (I used Adobo and chili seasoning, mainly because I use Adobo with everything I cook and chili seasoning because I’m making chili. Gosh.)...

Gooooooood morning peoples!
So, I succeeded in my simple yet extremely difficult first task of the day. The task? Consume coffee instead of going back to sleep. So far, so good.
On today’s agenda:
Write a “blurb” on why I am the best candidate for a certain job that I kind of really would not mind having.
Laundry and ironing. One day I will have a washer and dryer in my apartment, but for now I will...

This has, unfortunately, become all too relevant in my job hunt. Thank you mom and dad for telling me you couldn’t afford a private college and then buying a second home during my senior year with the money you saved.
That was awesome.

A story.

On Sunday Last Chance Animal Rescue Fund held an adoption day at our local Petco. There were small dogs and large dogs and cuddly dogs and not so cuddly dogs.
One such not so cuddly dog was Simon, a gorgeous 7-month-old Boxer mix who has obviously never been shown a bit of love.
He barks, he growls, he gets upset at all the other dogs (never people, he loves people) and was...

Suddenly grateful to be on AT&T.
Ah yes, that did happen and it did freeze my Tour and I felt betrayed. Luckily, I lost that phone and my amazing boyfriend bought me a DROID and I will never, ever look back.
In other news, I desperately need an eye exam and new contacts more than I need over-the-knee boots or an LV outfit. Or even Urban Decay’s Alice in Wonderland palette.

Surprise!
I called my momma to thank her for the gorgeous knit dress that she had sent me last week. (She has a shopping problem. I benefit from it from time to time.) I finally had a chance to wear it yesterday and it is marvelous and comfy and all the jazz. So I thank her and we go about chitchatting about the cold and clothes and about 10-15 minutes into our discussion she mentions that my father is...

Ups and Downs
My mood has been pretty decent the past week or so, with the exception of Sunday and Monday. I am going to go ahead and blame it on being out late playing on Saturday and I didn’t really have time to fully recover before I had to run out to brunch with Melissa at Hundred Acres. I had their Creole Bloody Mary and I have to say it is definitely one of the best I have had in the city. Oh...
